Charles Francois Daubigny ist ein französischer Landschaftsmaler des Realismus.
geboren am 15. Februar 1817 in Paris
gestorben am 19. Februar 1878 in Paris
Charles Francois Daubigny, der eine konventionelle Künstlerausbildung sowie ein Studium an der Ecole des Beaux – Arts genossen hat, schafft erst nach zehn Jahren, die er schon an Ausstellungen des Pariser Salons teilnimmt, den Durchbruch mit einigen Landschaftsportraits in der Technik der Freilichtmalerei. Er besitzt ähnlich wie sein Freund Jean Baptiste Camille Corot eine sehr ausgeprägte Beobachtungsgabe für stimmungsvolle Landschaften. Sein Spätwerk tendiert, geprägt von der Bekanntschaft mit Claude Monet und Gustave Courbet, zur typisch impressionistischen Auflösung der Form.		 Charles Francois Daubigny
