Eugene Boudin - Paintings
Eugène Boudin
, who is often referred to as a marine painter, is considered a representative of the early French Impressionism.
Born: 13 July 1824 in Honfleur
Died: 08 August 1898 in Deauville
Eugène Boudin’s work mainly comprises of harmonious sea and beach views under a sky shimmering in different shades of gray. His contemporaries Gustave Courbet and Jean-François Millet, to whom he establishes friendly relationships through exhibitions in his paper shop, credit him with special sense for the presentation of light and melancholic moods. Eugène Boudin’s paintings are appreciated in the salons for their accuracy and fresh colorfulness.
