Duccio-di-Buoninsegna - Paintings

Duccio di Buoninsegna was initially a cassette and book illustrator who largely influenced the development of Gothic and Sienese painting in the 14th century.
Born between 1250 and 1260 in Siena.
Died in 1318 in Siena.
Influenced by Byzantine art, Duccio di Buoninsegna created three panels, which can securely be dated to him, and many small Madonna table paintings. His main work is to name the Madonna Rucellai, reminiscent of the delicate lines and soft paint on the painting of Cimabue. The altarpiece for the high altar in Siena's cathedral, which is formed in 1308, is one of the combinations of Byzantine, Gothic and Florentine style elements of the masterpieces of Italian art of the 14th century.
